Thanks to our extensive list of technology partners, universities are able to adopt the Beep platform easily as it runs alongside your existing access control management software, door readers and controllers. The enrolment for the platform is easy and straight forward, with students being sent their digital campus card via their student email which they can then download directly to their smartphone.

No need for costly upgrades, no need to learn complex software or hire in-house development teams and no need to change your security provider. With Beep, making the switch to digital has never been easier.

Contactless access

Of course, one of the key things a campus card needs to be able to do is open doors around university. Whether it be signing in to a lecture, gaining access to the library or the gym or simply entering their own accommodation, students use their cards constantly without even knowing it.

For this reason, the Beep platform uses the same technology found in some existing campus cards to provide contactless access across campus using a smartphone. As of 2020, 97% of all current smartphones in the market have the necessary technology to make use of this feature, with Apple putting a lot more focus on contactless access during their World Wide Developer Conference in 2021.

With background access available, students won’t even need to unlock or ‘wake’ their phone in order to use their digital campus card on a door reader – helping to create a smoother flow of traffic during those busy times on campus.

Bank-grade security

Two-factor authentication, biometric & passcode verification and a dedicated security core – as secure as it gets.

We understand that one of the most important things for a university is to ensure that both its campus and its students are secure. With optional biometric and passcode verification for out-of-hours access and for the more secure parts of the university, you can be sure that those who are accessing campus or student accommodation are who they say they are.

Additionally, with every security system we integrate with, we work closely with the security provider to make sure the Beep platform meets their security standards. When we integrate with a new provider, they place their own software (a dedicated security core) inside the Beep platform to make it compatible with their security systems and to ensure that the platform is secure. This security core controls all key security elements of the platform and keeps your security provider in control.

Even if the Beep platform is compromised by hackers, the security core is guarded by your security provider – allowing your campus and your students to remain secure even in the event of a cyber attack.
